
Pierre Coran was born in Mons (Belgium) in 1934. He was a school principle then became teacher of history of literature. Coran‚ who writes in various literary genres (poetry‚ tales‚ novels)‚ was nominated in 2000‚ 2006 and 2009 as Belgian candidate for the Hans Christian Andersen award. In 2006‚ the minister of culture offered him the award of the "Communauté française de Belgique pour le Rayonnement de la Littérature de Jeunesse". There is currently a school and a public library that hold his name.
